Sea Flight
Ephemeral Flock
A fleeting moment, stretched across time—this group of photos captures the restless choreography of seagulls on a deserted Algarve beach in Southern Portugal, their movements traced in soft blurs of white and gray against the pale, sun-bleached landscape. Taken with a long shutter exposure, the images dissolve the boundaries between individual birds, emphasizing the collective energy of the flock. The gulls, suspended between stillness and flight, become symbols of impermanence, their blurred forms suggesting the fluidity of belonging, the tension between freedom and instinct

Silver sea: Gulls Over Morocco
Taken from high cliffs overlooking the Atlantic in Imsouane, this black-and-white series also captures seagulls in motion, their forms suspended against a sea so luminous it dissolves into pure light. The long exposure transforms their flight into a study of stillness and motion—some frozen in sharp detail, others trailing into soft echoes. In one frame, a lone surfer cuts through the waves, his figure blurred, dissolving into the same currents that shape the birds’ flight. The mirrored movements of surfer and gulls reveal a quiet synchronicity—both carried by forces larger than themselves

East End Gulls
This black-and-white series captures seagulls from above and within, offering a perspective that dissolves the usual distance between observer and flock. Two images, taken by drone, place the viewer in the heart of the swarm, wings cutting through the air just feet away. Another looks straight down on a row of gulls standing like sentinels along a sandbar in Mecox Bay, their stillness contrasting the shifting tides. In the final frame, two gulls cross mid-flight, their wings forming a “V”—a fleeting symbol of movement and symmetry.
