In one frame, a lone surfer cuts through the waves, his figure blurred, dissolving into the same currents that shape the birds’ flight. East End Gulls
This black-and-white series captures seagulls from above and within, offering a perspective that dissolves the usual distance between observer and flock. Two images, taken by drone, place the viewer in the heart of the swarm, wings cutting through the air just feet away. Another looks straight down on a row of gulls standing like sentinels along a sandbar in Mecox Bay, their stillness contrasting the shifting tides. In the final frame, two gulls cross mid-flight, their wings forming a “V”—a fleeting symbol of movement and symmetry.
